The 3 Watt Solar Pump with LED lights and Llithium Ion battery is designed for use in outdoor ponds and fountain.
Eco-friendly, it's easy to install, without ugly transformers, electric cords, and zero utility costs.
The pump has a 3 watt solar panel that stores energy in a rechargeable Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) battery. A night, a small solar light with 4 white LEDs illuminates the fountain spray. The Li-Ion battery makes this pump more compact and efficient than our Lead-Acid 3 watt solar pump. Please note that while the water flow capacity of this pump is less, the operating times without sunshine are greater and more reliable.
The solar panel is connected to the water pump and the lights with a 16-foot cable. The long cord lets you install the pump where you need it and the solar panel in full sun up to 16-feet away.
The pump has an adjustable water flow rate and comes with one fountain (adjustable height) and four (4) fountain heads. Use this energy efficient pump in your pond with the included fountain to add visual interest and keep the water moving for a healthier pond, or use the pump in your own water feature with hoses and clamps (not included).
How the Pump Works / Operating Modes
This solar pump is powered by a combination of the solar panel and energy stored in the rechargeable battery. When you first get your pump kit, assemble it and turn it to the OFF position and place the solar panel in direct sunlight and for at two sunny days to fully charge the battery. You can tell how much energy is in the rechargeable battery by a status indicator light on the controller panel.
Once the battery status indicator turns green, turn the pump to the ON position. While you can use the pump when the indicator light is in orange or red, it is recommended that the battery be fully charged before using a new pump, after removing a pump from storage, or after an extended period without sun.
You can then choose to operate the pump in two modes:
Solar Mode (Default):
Even with a partial battery charge, you can turn on the pump and allow it to operate via the solar panel. The solar panel will also slowly trickle charge the battery.
In the default Solar Mode, the pump will operate of the battery during cloud cover and at night until the stored energy in the battery is used up. The next day, the pump will operate directly off of the solar panel if it receives direct sunshine.
You can tell long the pump will operate without sun by the battery status indicator light (Green, Orange or Red.)
Solar On Demand:
In this mode, the pump is off and all energy from the solar panel is used to charge the battery. You then turn the pump on and it will operate exactly when you want for up to 6 to 8 hours without sunshine on a full solar charge.
This mode is a great way to have the pump and solar lights will work exactly when you want it. An example: say you are planning an evening event or a daytime event during cloudy weather. Keep the pump off until just before your guests are expected and the fountain and lights will add be a great garden focal point.
