The
Wild Bird Deluxe Solar Sipper
helps keep fresh water available for birds year-round.
During the summer, the watering station helps covers water to help keep it clean and cool. (In warm weather, its best to keep this in a shady area or one with filtered sunlight only.)
When temperatures start to drop, the Solar Sipper really struts it stuff! It's passive solar design and insulated walls help to keep water from freezing in temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
It works without a solar panel, "heater" or batteries: just place the bird bath/waterer in the sun and it absorbs and retains heat.
In bright red (one of the best colors to attract birds), it has a black lid to help soak up the sun's heat. During extreme cold, we recommend taking it in after a few hours of darkness and putting it out with fresh water the next day.
