The Desert Spring Solar-On-Demand Water Fountain uses the power of the sun to let water bubbles up and trickles down over the ribbed ball.
The pedestal has a unique convex shape in an earth tone color, with small lights that illuminate the flow by night. The base has an interesting convex shape, making this modern in style with state-of-the-art solar technology.
Solar-On-Demand means that you choose when to run the fountain, including at night.
Though the solar panel must be placed in a sunny area and requires 4 to 6 hours of sun to fully charge the battery, you can place the fountain itself up to 16 feet away from the solar panel using an optional extension cord (product comes with basic connection cord, approximately 1.5 feet long).
So, the fountain is ideal for sunny terraces or gardens, or even shady or covered locations such as gazebos or porches.
Because the unit has its own reservoir the water moves up from the base and gently trickles from the ball. No plumbing or electrical wires are necessary.
The solar panel provides energy so the fountain runs in sunny, over cast conditions (traditional solar fountains without batteries don't work if clouds block the sun) or even at night.
On cloudy days or at night, the fountain's pump is powered by the battery simply by pushing the On/Off button to switch to the battery mode. A fully charged battery will run up to 4 hours.
When the batteries are depleted, the system will automatically switch to be powered by the solar panel, and the fountain will resume running when the sun come out.
Durable and beautiful, the Desert Springs Water Fountain has the look of real ceramics but is made of durable, weather-resistant resin that stands up to harsh weather.
Note: all solar water fountains should be drained complete and/or taken inside during sub-freezing weather to prevent damage to the pump from expanding and contracting water.
